This trip is tailored to fit all fisherman ranging from the novice fly caster, to the fanatical expert seeking a challenging and unique experience. The cost of this trip is $1585 per person and includes 4 fantastic days of fishing and 3 nights accommodations at 3 distinct lodges along the river. What we recommend you Bring

All guests personal items will be transported in the boats we ride in, and will be hand carried to the lodges each night by your guide. As a safety concern we ask that you pack as light and compact as possible.  We suggest that each guest bring a medium sized duffle bag to hold personal clothing.  We also suggest a small bag or backpack for items that you will easily be able to access during the day.  These items are perhaps sunscreen, hat, glasses, snacks, etc. PERSONAL DUFFEL BAGS SHOULD NOT EXCEED 35lb PER PERSON.  Rogue Canyon Outfitters will supply dry bags that your duffle bags will be placed within. All personal duffel bags need to be able to fit in these supplied dry bags. (Please no suitcases or bags with wheels.)

Clothing - As a critical boating safety factor, you must travel lightly while on the river. You should plan to carry everything in a duffel-type soft bag - no suitcases please! In the canyon at this time of the year the weather can range from sunny and warm in the mid 80’s to raining and in the low 40’s.
In case of the latter, good quality rain gear and warm under garments are a necessity. Even if it is warm and sunny, the early mornings can be cool so be aware. The weather should be fine, but you will need to be prepared. You should bring:

1 set of quality rain gear (Tops, Bottoms & hat)
1 baseball hat or visor
1 pair sun glasses(polarized if possible)
sun screen
2 pair shoes(Light hiking boots,sandals,sneakers)
3 changes socks
warm jacket
2 pair long pants
2 pair shorts (early season trips)
4 shirts 
changes of under clothing
1 pair long underwear (late season)
light gloves (late season)
small flashlight
personal toiletry kit  
bandana
plastic bag (for worn clothing)
camera,film,extra batteries
personal water bottle

Any liquor,beer,wine,mixer or snacks you wish to have on the trip.

It is handy to pack personal items that you want access to, such as a camera or snack food etc. in a separate small waterproof bag. There are no supplies available while on the river.

Fishing Gear and License - Fishing gear is
provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. You will need a fishing license, which can be purchased on the way to the river in the morning of departure. You can also purchase your Oregon Fishing License online by visiting this site.

Beverages - There will not be any alcohol
furnished on the trip, but you are welcome to bring whatever you desire. the guides will have ice chests available. Some drinks and ice will be provided by the lodges.

This 4 day - 3 night 50 mile float traverses the "wild and scenic" stretch of the famous Rogue River. This particular stretch was designated as a"Wild and Scenic River" by congress in 1968. As a result, river access is limited and we are one of the few permitted outfitters lucky enough to give you this magnificent experience. You will experience this fishing trip froma Mckenzie River drift boat piloted by expert boatmen.

Our trips will accommodate 10-12 of your family and friends, however we generally are able to accommodate smaller groups if needed. Our season extends from late August through mid-November, where you'll enjoy Pacific Northwest's premier half pounder fishing. Our quarry, these famous Rogue River "half pounders" are sexually immature steelhead ranging from 14" to 24" in size. In addition you'll enjoy the company of our more than occasional adult steelhead ranging up to 12lbs. These Rogue River steelhead runs are unique and and among North America's premier game fish. Although fly fishing for the Rogue's lively steelhead is our primary objective, Silver and Chinook salmon are to be had as well throughout the season.

As much as fishing is a part of this trip, you will surely find yourself enthralled by the truly breathtaking scenery the Rogue River tenders. The exhilarating rapids and canyons are set in the backdrop of the Siskyou National Forests where the landscape provides a large variety of trees including ponderosa pine, oak, pacific madrone, cedar, western hemlock and douglas fir. These forests are home to the many animals that live along the river. You are more than likely to see Oregon's beautiful blacktail deer, elusive otters, osprey, black bears and the occasional eagle. What a sight! Bring your camera by all means!

Floating by morning and lunching at river's edge by afternoon, most guests find themselves seldom without a fly rod in hand. However, if is bird watching, hiking along one of the beautiful trails, getting lost in a book, or just taking in the sites of the Rogue river, our trip will provide these leisures as well. Truly a relaxing, no worries trip that allows anglers of all abilities to unwind and take in the delightful experiences that Rogue Canyon Outfitters represents.

Your first nights lodging on your 4 day will find you at Black Bar Lodge on the scenic Rogue River.

Come relax in Black Bar's main wilderness lodge. The warmth and charm radiate from this breathtaking lodge equipped with their own herd of blacktail deer which are among the first to greet you as you walk toward the front lawn.

The warmth of the logs, open-face fireplace and inviting great room provides a comfortable atmosphere for enjoying friends new and old, or settling in to read your favorite book.
