About Rogue Canyon Outfitters

Rogue Canyon outfitters was founded nearly 60 years ago and holds one of the oldest operating permits on the river. We were founded by Hall of Fame Fisherman, Kenny King.

We have led over 10,000 customers to hot steelhead waters and safely through the rapids in-between.

Guides:
All of our guides are experienced anglers and teachers, and have years of experience fishing the Rogue. Their goal is to not only get you down the river, but to also provide you with a personalized and unique experience. On our trips, our guides welcome all ability levels from the most seasoned angler to someone who has never fished before.

About the Rogue River:
This 50 mile boat trip traverses a scenic and secluded strech of the Rogue River. This particular stretch was designated as a "Wild and Scenic River" by congress in 1968, and therefore has only hiking trails and limited road access near the beginning and end of the trip. The season extends between late August and mid-November, and the fishing is generally good throughout the season. Our quarry is the famous Rogue River "half-pounder"; these are steelhead ranging from 14" to 24", with some larger fish to ten pounds. They are among North America's permier game fish. Some salmon are also caught throughout the season.

Scenery and Wildlife:
As well as fishing, the Rogue offers incredible scenery and wildlife to look at. The awesome rapids and canyons are set in the backdrop of the Siskyou National Forest where you will find ponderosa pine, oak and pacific madrone trees in the drier areas and ceder, western hemlock and douglas fir in the areas with greater precipitation. These forests provide homes to animals that live along the river. You may see blacktail deer, otters, osprey, black bears and an occasional eagle.
